Shift Up has officially revealed Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, the next entry in the action-adventure franchise and a sequel to Stellar Blade. The announcement came during Summer Game Fest, where the studio debuted a new in-engine gameplay trailer.

A New Chapter in the Stellar Blade Universe

Stellar Blade: Blood Rain takes place in the same universe as the original game and continues the story beyond its events.

Rather than placing Eve back in the lead role, the sequel introduces a new protagonist named Evie. Shift Up says the game will expand the world in a bold new direction while keeping the stylish action and core identity that helped define Stellar Blade.

Early Development, Big Ambitions

Shift Up confirmed that Stellar Blade: Blood Rain is still in early development, but the studio says it has already made strong progress.

The original development team is returning for the sequel, with the goal of building on the combat, world-building, and action systems that fans responded to in the first game.

The studio has not announced platforms or a release window yet.

Shift Up Will Self-Publish

Alongside the trailer, Shift Up confirmed that it will self-publish Stellar Blade: Blood Rain.

The move gives the studio more direct control over the sequel as it continues to grow the Stellar Blade franchise.

More details on Stellar Blade: Blood Rain will be shared at a later date.
