Parco Games and solo developer Shinnosuke Kumazawa have announced that Finding Polka will launch on Steam on August 12, 2026.
The cozy interactive adventure follows Friendy and her sausage dog, Jazz, as they chase a chunky Frenchie who resembles Jazz’s childhood dog, Polka.
A Quiet Walk Turns Strange
Finding Polka begins with a routine stroll through town when Friendy and Jazz spot the familiar-looking Frenchie.
That brief moment sets the pair on a gentle hide-and-seek story built around memory, curiosity, and the small surprises tucked into daily life in Japan.
Hand-Drawn in Ballpoint Pen
Finding Polka uses nostalgic ballpoint-pen illustrations to create its soft, handmade look.
Players will wander through towns, forests, seaside areas, and other illustrated spaces while meeting odd locals, helping them out, and finding small activities along the way.
A Story Told Without Dialogue
The game tells its story through animation, sound, and gestures instead of dialogue.
Players can expect friendly characters such as patient giraffes and hungry cats, along with mini-games and hidden details spread across each area.
Inspired by a Real Dog
Finding Polka is a personal project from Kumazawa, who created the game as a tribute to his late dog.
Finding Polka launches August 12 on Steam.
