1312 Interactive and Monotusk Studios have announced that Palm Sugar: A Village Story will launch for Windows PC on August 12, 2026. The story-driven pixel RPG will be available through Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.
A demo is available now on Steam, giving players an early look at Seenu’s fight to save his home village of Bellampakam.
A Village Under Threat
Palm Sugar: A Village Story follows Seenu, a sharp-tongued and awkward young man whose quiet life changes when a brutal drug cartel takes over his village.
What starts as a personal story about romance and small-town life turns into a fight to reclaim Bellampakam. Along the way, Seenu meets locals, trades items, solves puzzles, and faces enemies who will not fall for his sarcasm.
South Indian Culture in Pixel Art
The game draws from South Indian village life, using its setting, characters, music, and rural tools to shape Seenu’s story.
Players will use weapons such as sticks, axes, and slingshots to take on enemies, while dialogue-heavy scenes let Seenu show his humor, heart, and rough edges.
Puzzle Solving and Local Flavor
Progression will include combat, conversations, trading, and puzzle solving. Players will need to talk with villagers, pay attention to details, and use the right items to advance the story.
Palm Sugar: A Village Story also features a South Indian-inspired soundtrack and pixel-art environments built around rural life.
