Doukutsu Penguin Club has released a new A Tiny Wander demo on Steam as part of the Wholesome Games Celebration.
The demo covers the first 10% of the 3D cozy mystery adventure, giving players an early look at Buie the traveling courier and his delivery job near the strange Awry Forest.
A Courier Enters the Awry Forest
A Tiny Wander follows Buie, a courier who accepts a delivery request leading him toward the Awry Forest, a giant-tree forest where travelers often go missing.
After several strange events, Buie sets up camp at the forest’s edge to gather information and finish the delivery. Players will piece together what is happening through observation, conversation, and exploration.
A Nighttime Mystery Without Horror
A Tiny Wander takes place at night, but the team says it does not include horror elements.
Players will carry a lantern through dark paths, light signs, talk with locals, move materials, and build bridges to open new routes. The game aims to evoke the feel of wandering through a pop-up picture book, with the setting, puzzles, and story closely tied together.
Coffee, Campfires, and Quiet Details
Between deliveries and forest clues, players can slow down and take in smaller moments.
That includes sitting on stones to watch the scenery shift, serving coffee to people around a campfire, and checking places that catch Buie’s attention.
A Tiny Wander is also a spin-off from Quaint Places: Chronicles of Exploration, an art book by director and lead illustrator Nonohara.
