New Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World details have revealed more of Witherwood, including its regions, dungeons, enemies, story characters, and monster-focused systems.
Taiboku and Lushland Revealed
Witherwood will feature several regions with different looks and themes.
Taiboku is filled with bamboo groves and rice paddies, while Lushland is home to massive fruits and vegetables. Players will also find caves and towers that act as dungeons throughout the adventure.
Strong Enemies Have a Clear Warning
Some enemies in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World will be marked by an ominous, swirling aura.
That visual cue helps players spot powerful monsters before engaging them, giving teams a chance to prepare or rethink the fight.
New Characters Join the Story
The latest details also introduce several important characters.
Thespidor, King Withers, and monster wrangling legend Ed will all play key roles. Ed’s partner in mischief, Scruffy, will also appear during the story.
Waterwing Can Restores Life
Players will acquire the Waterwing Can, an artifact tied to restoring Roots of Creation and Lifebuds.
Once restored, those locations can heal monsters and help synthesize new ones. The Waterwing Can can also draw monsters out of suspicious bushes, adding another way to find creatures while exploring Witherwood.
