Funcom shared several Dune: Awakening updates from gamescom, including new PlayStation 5 gameplay footage, a movie-inspired DLC pack, and confirmation that PC and console cross-play is planned after launch.
The survival game launched on PC in June 2025 and comes to PlayStation 5 and Xbox on September 22.

Funcom released seven minutes of PlayStation 5 gameplay during IGN Live.
The footage was captured on PlayStation 5 Pro and shows the console version’s visuals, gameplay, and performance. On base PlayStation 5, Performance Mode runs at 60fps with dynamic resolution. On PlayStation 5 Pro, Performance Mode also runs at 60fps.
Quality Mode runs at 30fps on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. Funcom says the game runs in upscaled 4K across both systems in Performance and Quality Mode.
Cross-Play Coming After Launch
Funcom confirmed that PC and console cross-play is in development for Dune: Awakening.
The feature will arrive sometime after the September console launch. The studio has not shared a release date yet.
Filmic Archive DLC Arrives September 22
Funcom also announced Filmic Archive, a new DLC pack launching September 22 for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
The $9.99 pack includes outfits inspired by Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two, including the Aegis of the Unwalked Path armor and Caladan Stormcoat. It also adds new Sardaukar armor and a 73-piece Sardaukar-style base-building set.
A full DLC trailer will premiere during the Xbox Broadcast.
Console Launch Adds More Content
The September 22 launch will also bring a single-player mode, the story conclusion, difficulty scaling options, and a year’s worth of PC updates to console players on day one.
Dune: Awakening will also be available through Xbox Game Pass starting September 22. Deluxe and Ultimate Edition owners on Xbox and PlayStation can start playing early on September 17.
Physical PS5 Edition Confirmed
Funcom will release a physical PlayStation 5 edition on September 22 through selected retailers.
Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe will handle retail distribution across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. Solutions 2 GO Inc. will handle North and South America. Spike Chunsoft will publish the game digitally and physically in Japan on October 29.
