Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Details Relic Expeditions

Capcom has released a new Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen gameplay overview focused on Relic Expeditions, the main loop awaiting Arisen in the frozen region of Norgan.

The Dark Arisen expansion launches October 9, 2026, while a free Dragon’s Dogma 2 title update is live now with framerate improvements, extra save slots, and more assignable weapon skills.

Preparing for Norgan

The Relic Expedition walkthrough takes players to the Norgandian Settlement, the last safe haven in a region once filled with life.

Outside its walls, Arisen will search frost-covered wastes, abandoned settlements, and caves for relics left behind after an ancient war. Before each expedition, players will need to stock up on provisions, improve gear, and rest before heading into danger.

Monsters Guard the Spoils

Norgan’s wilds are packed with threats.

Beorcan warriors attack anyone who gets close to their firepits, while the Norgan Giant can trap enemies in ice with a single breath. Capcom also highlighted Fimbl, an ice dragon holding relics with greater potential.

Players will not always need to fight for relics, though. Exploration can also lead to rewards, and Freki, the direwolf living in the Norgandian Settlement, can guide Arisen to spoils for a price.

Relics Need Appraisal

Relics found in Norgan only show their true value after appraisal.

Jiera, the matron of the Norgandian Settlement, can appraise relics and turn them into gear. Similar-looking relics may produce very different results, with rarity affecting stats and possible abilities.

Appraised weapons and armor can also grant new abilities or improve skills already used by the Arisen and their Pawn.
