Sega and developer GpTrack50 have released a new Stupid Never Dies Deep Bite video explaining Blazing Fast Growth, the progression system designed to make Davy stronger at an increasingly rapid pace during each run.
Director Eiichiro Sasaki also detailed the shopping mall hub, permanent upgrade systems, and a new update for the Stupid Never Dies: First Bite demo ahead of the game’s October 21 launch.
Blazing Fast Growth Speeds Up Every Run
Davy begins each attempt at level 1 as he tries to reach the bottom of KOM’s domain and defeat the King of All Monsters.
Blazing Fast Growth increases his leveling speed over time as he defeats enemies. Eventually, Davy can reach a point where defeating a single early enemy grants a large number of levels at once.
The goal is to build enough strength and progression for Davy to eventually reach KOM and defeat him in a single run.
Upgrade Davy at the Shopping Mall
Between attempts, players return to a shopping mall that acts as Davy’s home base.
At Ink on the Brain, Ascelino can use Over Technology collected during runs to modify Davy’s head, arms, and legs through the Body Hack system.
Bessie at Bessie Burger accepts monster parts in exchange for Zombie Skills. Once acquired, those skills can appear among Davy’s level-up choices during future runs.
Davy can also move between stores aboard a modified robot vacuum.
First Bite Demo Gets Combat Improvements
GpTrack50 has updated the Stupid Never Dies: First Bite demo based on player feedback.
Attacks have been adjusted to make enemies easier to hit when they’re on the ground or in the air.
A new Combat Camera Assist option also helps keep enemies visible during fights. Players can enable or disable the feature from the Options menu.
The demo is available now on Steam and PlayStation 5.
Stupid Never Dies Launches October 21
Stupid Never Dies follows Davy, a timid zombie trying to revive a frozen human named Julia while fighting through a monster-controlled dungeon.
Players can steal enemy abilities, alter Davy’s body, gather equipment, and repeatedly build him into a stronger fighter.
Stupid Never Dies launches October 21, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, followed by its Japanese release on October 22.
The Standard Edition costs $49.99, while the Glorious Idiot Edition costs $59.99.
