SEGA and Creative Assembly have announced Total War: Shogun 2 – Complete Edition, an updated package of the strategy game launching October 13.
The new edition combines Shogun 2 with its major expansions and content, plus updated visuals, controls, localization, accessibility options, and support for modern hardware.
Three Campaigns Cover 700 Years
Total War: Shogun 2 – Complete Edition includes three standalone campaigns spanning over 700 years of Japanese history.
The main Shogun 2 campaign takes place during the Sengoku Jidai, tasking players with using diplomacy, espionage, betrayal, and military force to bring Japan under their clan.
Rise of the Samurai moves back to the Genpei War in 1175, while Fall of the Samurai covers the Boshin War and Japan’s shift toward modern warfare.
More Than 50 Playable Factions
The Complete Edition expands the strategy game with over 50 playable factions alongside its campaign content.
Players manage their forces through turn-based strategy before taking direct command during large-scale real-time battles.
The package includes every major expansion, faction pack, and content update, but not the Blood Pack.
Updated for Modern Hardware
Creative Assembly is adding several technical and gameplay updates to the new edition.
Improvements include updated visuals, lighting, and shadows; 1440p and 4K UI scaling; modernized controls; a 64-bit upgrade; ultrawide monitor support; and colorblind accessibility options.
Full Japanese and Chinese voice and text localization will also be included.
Mod.io Support Added
Total War: Shogun 2 – Complete Edition will feature integrated Mod.io support.
The addition gives players another way to access community-made content alongside the expanded faction roster and existing campaigns.
Loyalty Discount for Existing Owners
Players who already own Total War: Shogun 2 will receive legacy DLC from the original release at no extra cost.
Existing owners will also qualify for a limited-time 75% loyalty discount on Total War: Shogun 2 – Complete Edition.
The updated edition launches October 13.
