Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Title Update 1.0.8 is available now, bringing New Game+ and a customizable Nightmare difficulty to Edward Kenway’s adventure. Ubisoft describes the update as the game’s final major content update.
The publisher has also released a presentation video covering the additions.
Start Again With Your Gear in New Game+
New Game+ lets you replay the story while carrying over progression from your previous run, including weapons, gear, tools, trinkets, pets, and Jackdaw upgrades.
Story progress, active quests, quest items, map discovery, location progress, and forts reset when you begin. Your Jackdaw and Hideout upgrades remain intact, though you’ll need to regain access to both through the story.
You can continue through New Game+ 5, with each successive run adding a difficulty modifier.
Nightmare Difficulty Raises the Stakes
Nightmare difficulty makes enemies more dangerous on land and at sea. Enemies deal more damage, attack more frequently, detect Edward more readily, and give you tighter windows to parry or dodge. Ranged attacks are faster, and naval encounters are tougher.
You can enable Nightmare at any point in the story and set it independently for combat, stealth, naval gameplay, and activities.
