Ubisoft has officially unveiled Rayman Legends Retold during Sony’s State of Play presentation, bringing the beloved platforming series back with a reimagined version of the 2013 classic. The game is set to launch on October 1 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, Ubisoft+, GeForce Now, and Blacknut.
Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan, Rayman Legends Retold builds on the original game’s foundation, adding fully realized 3D visuals, a brand-new story, and fully voiced cinematics.
A New Adventure in the Glade of Dreams
The new story reunites players with Rayman, Globox, Barbara, Grand Minimus, and Murphy as they set out to restore peace to the Glade of Dreams. A mysterious new villain threatens the realm, spreading chaos across multiple worlds and forcing the heroes into a new journey.
Players can tackle the adventure solo or team up with up to four players in local couch co-op. Along the way, they’ll explore a completely new sixth realm, take on boss battles, and rescue hidden Teensies scattered throughout the world.
According to Ubisoft Brand Producer Loïc Gounon, the goal was to revisit what made Rayman special while expanding the series’ mythology for both longtime fans and newcomers.
“We wanted to preserve everything fans love, and Legends gave us the perfect foundation to expand Rayman’s lore, its world logic, and how everything connects together,” said Gounon.
Returning Favorites and New Challenges
Rayman Legends Retold brings back many of the original game’s most recognizable levels while introducing new content and gameplay improvements.
Players can once again soar through levels on dragon rides, tackle the Cave of Trials, and compete in the returning Kung Foot mode. Ubisoft says Kung Foot now includes improved controls, power-ups, and customizable rules for more competitive multiplayer matches.
The remake also introduces four brand-new musical stages, continuing one of the original game’s most celebrated features.
The Glade of Dreams itself has been redesigned and expanded, featuring new character interactions, secrets, and areas to explore.
Music From Series Veterans
The soundtrack combines remastered fan-favorite themes with brand-new compositions. Ubisoft confirmed that series composer Christophe Héral returns alongside veteran game composer Grant Kirkhope to create the expanded score.
Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses
Rayman Legends Retold will launch at a suggested retail price of $39.99 for the Standard Edition.
