Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds Previews Hero Mode and New Dungeon Ahead of 1.0

Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds has shared a new development update previewing Hero Mode, an ancient elven library dungeon, and additional combat skills ahead of its Version 1.0 release. Developer Ocelot Technologies is currently building the features for the tactical RPG, which remains in Early Access on Steam.

The game is also 20% off, with a free demo available for players who want to try it before buying.

Hero Mode Combines Tactician Difficulty With a Single Save

Hero Mode is designed for players looking for a tougher run. It combines Tactician difficulty with a single save and changes to selected encounters, putting greater pressure on preparation and decisions during battle.

Failure won’t force players to abandon the entire adventure. If they die during a Hero Mode attempt, they can continue on Tactician difficulty and finish the playthrough normally. That gives the mode a defined challenge while still letting players see the rest of the campaign after an unsuccessful attempt.

The Archives Expands the Main Story

The update also introduces the Archives, a sprawling dungeon located inside an ancient elven library. Its exploration ties into the main storyline, including revelations about the activities of the chronomancer Thevyre.

Alongside the dungeon preview, the devlog offers a behind-the-scenes look at creating the Exarch illustration. Both offer another look at the material being prepared as the game moves toward its full release.

Rogues, Pyromancers, and Engineers Gain New Skills

The latest abilities give three schools additional tactical options. Rogues gain Wraith, which makes them invisible for three turns. Pyromancers receive Chainfire Blast, allowing them to launch fireballs that ricochet between targets.

Engineers gain access to Wildcard surfaces. These randomly take on the effects of existing surface types, adding an unpredictable element to battlefield planning. Ocelot Technologies anticipates more than 200 skills for Version 1.0.

The studio is continuing to collect feedback through Steam reviews, discussion forums, and the game’s Discord during development.

Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds is available in Steam Early Access, with text support for English, Simplified Chinese, and Brazilian Portuguese. A free demo is available on the store page.
