Harold Halibut launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12, 2026. Developer Slow Bros announced the port during IGN FanFest, bringing its handmade narrative adventure to Nintendo’s console following its spring 2024 debut on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The game follows Harold aboard a city-sized spaceship stranded beneath an alien ocean, where maintenance work and friendships become part of his search for the meaning of home.
Physical Sets and Puppets Give Harold Halibut Its Look
Development began in 2013, with Slow Bros building physical sets and puppets before scanning them into the game.
That process gives Harold Halibut its stop-motion appearance. Every visible model comes from traditional sculpting and modelmaking, translated into an interactive 3D setting.
The presentation pairs those handmade environments with fully voiced dialogue and motion-captured animation.
Meet More Than 40 Characters Beneath an Alien Ocean
You’ll explore the submerged spaceship and meet more than 40 characters as Harold works to keep it running.
The story centers on friendship and belonging, using the ship’s retrofuturistic setting to examine what home means to its inhabitants.
Harold Halibut arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 November 12.
