Quiet Express: Cabin 909 has released a Steam demo that offers about 30 minutes aboard a train trapped in a repeating seven-day disaster. Developer Studio909, led by director Kazuhide Oka, announced the demo and a new trailer at The Mix Fall Showcase 2026.
Inspired by Blue Prince and Road 96, the mystery adventure asks you to find a cabin that supposedly doesn’t exist—and prevent the train’s fatal derailment.
Choose Which Cabin Waits Behind Each Door
You begin at the rear of the Quiet Express and work toward the front. Opening a door presents three possible cabins, letting you shape the train’s layout as you explore.
Choices include passenger quarters, restaurants, and storage spaces. Further investigation can reveal ways to change your selection or add another option.
How you connect those cabins affects where you can go and what you can learn. Locked doors, apparently inactive switches, and spaces above the ceiling provide additional puzzles along the route.
Meet Passengers and Break the Seven-Day Loop
New passengers board at each stop, including giants, homunculi, and half-human beings. Talking with them and helping with their problems brings you closer to Cabin 909.
But the trip ends in catastrophe just before the final station. The train burns, everyone aboard dies, and you awaken seven days earlier, ready to board again.
The demo includes multiple ways to prevent the derailment. Repeated attempts also let you investigate why time keeps resetting and why you’re searching for the missing cabin.
You can play the demo on Steam now. STUDIO909 has also opened an official Discord community for gameplay tips and demo updates.
