Shadow Rush Announced for 2027, Demo Out Now From Ghostlore Developer

Shadow Rush is bringing fast arena clears and automatically triggered abilities to Steam in 2027. Solo developer Andrew Teo, known for Ghostlore, has revealed the isometric hack-and-slash RPG, with a playable demo available now.

The game draws combat inspiration from Diablo and Kingdom Hearts, while its art direction takes cues from Final Fantasy character designer Tetsuya Nomura.

Attacks and Dashes Cycle Through Four Combat Phases

Each attack or dash advances your character through four combat phases, automatically triggering their assigned abilities.

Instead of managing a row of separate hotkeys, you’ll build an ability sequence through your equipment and control it with movement and attacks. The system keeps inputs simple while making timing and build choices matter.

Collectible Shards supply spells and special abilities. You can equip, remove, and transfer them between characters to experiment with different Shard Decks and combinations.

Clear Arenas Before Darkness Swallows Them

Shadow Rush pushes you toward aggressive play, with plenty of health pickups to help you recover from hits and keep fighting.

Taking too long has a harsher consequence: a wave of darkness consumes the arena and ends your run. Clear the enemies in time, collect your completion bonus, and move to the next area.

The roster includes six characters, each wielding a different weapon. Quick runs and roguelike elements encourage you to switch characters and test new builds.

Shadow Rush launches in 2027.
