The Mailroom launches October 26 on PC via Steam, putting you behind the sorting desk at a regional office of Hell. Developed by Crowfriend and published by Vendetta, the cozy horror workplace simulator is also available as a demo now.
Your workplace is in Modesto, California, which apparently doubles as an infernal administrative outpost. You don’t know how you arrived or why you’re there, but management still expects you to clock in.
Sort Mail and Keep Hell’s Machines Running
Your primary duty is to inspect envelopes and send them to the correct floors. You’ll need to spot patterns, catch unwanted mail, and keep mistakes to a minimum under your infernal supervisors’ watch.
The job gets stranger as each day introduces additional mechanics. Machine maintenance involves magical artifacts, ancient tools, and occult rituals, while equipment failures can have fatal consequences. You’ll also process raw materials and handle unusual specimens, including amphibians you can dissect—or pet.
Limited tools and resources add another concern to your shift. Using supplies carelessly risks disrupting operations and drawing attention from the higher floors.
Search the Office for a Way Out
Beyond your daily workload, The Mailroom builds a mystery around your arrival and the office itself. As you progress, access to surrounding areas expands, giving you opportunities to investigate your circumstances and search for an exit.
The game pairs intentionally pixelated 3D environments with dark workplace humor, including necromancy as routine maintenance and questionable quantities of “butt paper.”
