Trollheim: Gnomes brings tiny survivors and Nordic folklore to Steam Early Access later in 2026. Off-Leash Interactive, Trollheim Studios, and Fireshine Games announced the survival-crafting sandbox, which supports solo play or co-op with up to eight players.
You’ll gather resources, build shelter, and explore a procedurally generated Dark Forest populated by mythical beings known as Väsen.
Build a Gnome Home Above or Below the Forest Floor
The story follows the last Sprýg Gnomes of Midgård, driven from their dwelling by Oden and his corruption. They regroup in the Dark Forest, where trolls, faeries, sirens, and other creatures share their new surroundings.
Survival means managing cold, hunger, and the threats around you. Building options include treetop homes, hollow logs, rock crevices, and lakeside shelters, with bridges, moss-covered walls, and lighting to personalize your settlement.
Climb Trees, Explore Caves, and Encounter Väsen
Exploration extends above and beneath the forest floor. You can climb trees and rocks, enter caves, and craft tools and weapons to handle the dangers you encounter.
Crafting systems support different approaches, while encounters with powerful Väsen can produce varying outcomes. You can explore alone or bring up to seven friends.
Steam Early Access Planned for Later This Year
Trollheim: Gnomes forms part of a broader setting spanning books, games, and collectibles. Titan Books released the novel Trollheim: Tale of Sýstir on May 19.
The game enters Steam Early Access later in 2026, with no specific date announced.
