Usual June will now launch on January 20, 2027, on PC via Steam. Developer Finji announced the delay alongside a new gameplay trailer shown during Cozy After Dark, giving the team additional weeks to refine the third-person action-adventure before release.
Finji co-founders Adam and Bekah Saltsman said the decision comes down to improving the launch builds and presenting their collaborators’ work at its best.
Finji Takes More Time to Polish the Launch
The Saltsmans joked that they could blame the change on GTA 6, but said the team simply wants more time to prepare the game.
“We want to show the hard work from all our brilliant collaborators in the best light possible, and this extra time allows us to do that,” they said.
The new trailer offers another look at the mysteries waiting in Fen Harbor, where the living and dead must work together before the city’s ghosts disappear.
Explore Haunted Locations and Fight for New Powers
Usual June takes you through secret labs, buried tunnels, haunted observatories, and a mysterious alternate setting. Combat features fast arena encounters, with XP and leveling granting additional powers.
Those abilities come at a cost, though Finji leaves players to learn the consequences for themselves.
You’ll also speak with 25 characters to investigate Fen Harbor. The dead contribute photographic memories, while the living can physically interact with objects, making cooperation part of piecing together what is happening.
