Croakwood will launch into Early Access on Steam this winter, developer Hark Studios announced during Wholesome Direct 2026.
The cozy town builder puts players in charge of a growing frog village in Croakwood Forest, where the goal is to help amphibian villagers build a happy, self-sufficient community at their own pace.
Build a Frog Village in the Forest
In Croakwood, players guide a group of frog villagers as they settle into unfamiliar woods.
Players can build homes, shops, and other community structures while shaping how the village grows. A flexible piece-based building system lets players design and customize homes inside and out.
As the settlement expands, villagers will gather resources, craft items, and transport materials on their own.
Production Chains Without Pressure
Croakwood includes production chains and job systems, but it avoids conflict and time pressure.
Players can set up the town’s economy, assign work, and watch villagers handle daily routines. The game is designed for players who want to optimize every detail, as well as those who would rather sit back and enjoy the cozy rhythm of village life.
The main goal is to keep the frogs happy.
Explore Deeper Into Croakwood Forest
As players meet villagers’ needs and complete requests, they can unlock new content and expand further into the forest.
New areas will bring more secrets, resources, and ways to grow the town while deepening the village’s connection to Croakwood Forest.
