Capcom has announced Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, an expanded version of Dragon’s Dogma 2 launching on October 9, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
The release marks the first time Dragon’s Dogma 2 will come to Nintendo Switch 2. Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will cost $49.99, while the Dark Arisen Expansion will also be sold separately as DLC for existing players on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC for $29.99.
Journey to Norgan
The Dark Arisen Expansion sends the Arisen to Norgan, a long-abandoned northern region tied to the mystery of the undying Fallen Dragon.
There, players will join forces with the enigmatic Eir while unearthing forgotten relics, appraising ancient gear, and unlocking powerful new weapons and skills.
Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges
The expansion adds 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges.
These new dungeons were created by the Pathfinder and are designed to test the Arisen while offering rare equipment once held by past Arisen. Players who want tougher combat encounters and better rewards will have a new set of trials to tackle.
New Character Customization Options
Dark Arisen also expands Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Character Creator with new appearance options.
Players will gain access to additional hairstyles and tattoos, giving them more ways to customize their Arisen and Pawns.
Free Updates Coming Before Launch
Capcom also outlined two major updates for the base game ahead of the expansion.
The June 9 update adds the Eternal Ferrystone, a reusable fast-travel item, along with several quality-of-life changes.
A second update is planned for late August and will add improved frame rates, additional save slots, and further refinements based on the June update.
