Tamashika Hits Xbox Game Pass With Major Content Update

Edglrd and quicktequila have announced that Tamashika is now available through Xbox Game Pass. The hypnotic first-person shooter has also received its first major content update across all platforms.

The update adds a new Accelerate Mode, over 50 new Transcend Mode segments, new mechanics, added language support, and several quality-of-life improvements.

Accelerate Mode Arrives

The biggest addition is Accelerate Mode, a new endless mode built around faster pacing and sharper focus. Players can push deeper into Tamashika’s rhythm-like flow as the game ramps up speed and intensity.

Transcend Mode has also expanded with more than 50 new segments. These include Jumpads for crossing gaps, Pills that boost speed, and new teleport behavior with more grip.

New Areas, Collectibles, and Time Travel

The update adds new Village sections, pulling players out of tighter corridors and into more open spaces. These areas include close-range shootouts, hidden enemies, and new mechanics.

A new Time Travel system also lets players revisit past levels to improve scores. Players can collect items tied to this system, then use the new Calendar Menu to review runs and return to earlier stages. Tamashika now supports up to 200 stored collectibles.

Accessibility and Performance Updates

The update adds new visual and accessibility settings, including a lower dosage option with reduced effects and more muted colors. A new 15µg dosage option is also available for players who want stronger visual feedback.

Graphics have received touchups, menus have been improved, and PlayStation now supports 120Hz. Players can also sample tracks in the Vibes Menu, including a new song titled “Soul Bird.”

More Languages and Fixes

Tamashika now supports Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Ukrainian, Polish, and Russian. The update also includes bug fixes, balancing changes, and optimization work.

Tamashika is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Game Pass.
