Sega has opened applications for the Crazy Taxi: World Tour multiplayer Closed Network Test, giving selected players an early shot at two online modes ahead of the game’s 2027 launch.
Applications are open now through August 31. The test will run from September 11 at 5:00 PM PT through September 13 at 5:00 PM PT.
Two Multiplayer Modes in the Test
The full version of Crazy Taxi: World Tour will include single-player and story modes, but the Closed Network Test will focus only on online multiplayer.
Players can try Pickup Race, where up to six drivers compete to drop off as many passengers as possible within the time limit while earning the most crazy money.
The test will also include Cops ‘N’ Cabbies, a team-based mode that splits players into two teams of three.
Both modes support Ranked Match and Custom Match, with custom lobbies and rules available.
Cars, Characters, and Cross-Play
The test will include two maps, four characters, and six cars with tune-up options.
Sega will use the test to check online multiplayer stability and cross-play performance across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PlayStation 5, and Steam.
West Coast Map Trailer Revealed
Sega also released a new trailer showing the West Coast map, a location that should feel familiar to longtime Crazy Taxi fans.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour will also bring back real-life retail storefronts in-game. The West Coast map will include brands such as IHOP and Amoeba Music, with more retailers planned for future map reveals.
Launching in 2027
Crazy Taxi: World Tour launches in 2027 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The game supports Xbox Play Anywhere and is available to wishlist now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, and PlayStation 5.
