Moomin: Midsummer Madness Launches This Autumn on Switch and PC

Shochiku Games and Crossbridge Game Studios have announced that Moomin: Midsummer Madness will launch in autumn 2026 for PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

The announcement arrived on Moomin’s Day, the annual celebration tied to author and artist Tove Jansson’s birthday. A physical Nintendo Switch edition will also be available at launch.

A Flood Hits Moominvalley

Moomin: Midsummer Madness is a cozy point-and-click adventure starring Moomintroll and Little My.

Inspired by Jansson’s 1954 novel Moominsummer Madness, the game follows the Moomin family after a great flood submerges Moominvalley and leads them to a strange floating theater.

Classic Scenes and New Stories

The game will include moments from the original book alongside new storylines made for this adaptation.

Players will solve puzzles through dialogue, area interaction, and mini-games. A hint system will also be included, making the adventure more approachable for younger players and anyone seeking a relaxed pace.

Hand-Drawn Moomin Art

Moomin: Midsummer Madness uses hand-drawn art inspired by Jansson’s original illustrations.

Locations such as the Moominhouse and floating theater will appear with a style meant to stay close to the classic books. Players will also switch between characters and use their traits to advance the story.
