Fatshark has released Warhammer 40,000: Darktide – Depths of the Damned, a free update adding the Spillway mission, the Prophet of Decay boss encounter, additional weapons, class balance changes, and a new live event.
The update is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Spillway Sends Players Into Water Cartel Territory
The new Spillway mission takes Strike Teams into a previously unseen section of Tertium controlled by the Water Cartel.
Players will move through tunnels, waterways, and abandoned passages while choosing between different routes. Some paths carry greater risks, though all eventually lead deeper into the Hive.
Waiting at the end is the Prophet of Decay, a corrupted Psyker who serves as the update’s major boss encounter.

New Weapons Expand the Arsenal
Depths of the Damned adds new weapon families and marks available across multiple classes.
New weapon families include:
- Ogryn Cruncher
- Huntsman’s Shotgun
- Ogryn Thugshot
The release also names four new weapon marks:
- Crusher Krourk Mk VII
- Double-Barrelled Shotgun Krouk Mk IV
- Gromm Mk I Battle Maul
- Mk V Slab Shield

Talent Trees Get Another Rework
The update also changes class talent trees and weapon balance.
Fatshark has removed some smaller stat boosts from talent trees, giving players more room to spend points on abilities with a larger gameplay impact.

Allies and Adversaries Live Event Begins
A new monthly event, Allies and Adversaries, also begins alongside Depths of the Damned.
Interrogator Rannick assists Grendyl’s allies across three missions, eventually sending players into the Torrent to help the Ragged King with another threat.
New premium cosmetics based on the Cadian 512th and Krieg 158th are also available through Commodore’s Vestures.
