Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on February 25, 2027. Nis America announced that the new version supports gameplay at up to 120 FPS, cooperative play through GameShare, and Spanish-language support for the first time.
The action JRPG follows Adol after a shipwreck strands him on a cursed island with other passengers.
Rescue Castaways and Build a Village
Adol and his fellow survivors establish a village while searching for a way off the island. Rescuing additional passengers brings new residents to the settlement, where they provide useful services.
Meanwhile, Adol begins dreaming of Dana, a mysterious blue-haired maiden. Her connection to the island forms a central mystery, with separate playable sections exploring her side of the story.
Combat lets you switch party members on the fly as you face the island’s creatures.
Switch 2 Adds GameShare Co-op and Spanish Support
The Switch 2 release offers performance of up to 120 FPS and lets you bring another player into the adventure through GameShare.
Nis America also confirmed Spanish-language support, though the announcement doesn’t specify which parts of the game will be localized.
