SNK has revealed an Open Beta for the long-awaited Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will run from February 20 to 24, 2025. The beta will be available across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, offering players their first taste of the modernized fighting game before its April 24 release.
Eight Fighters, Four Modes: What to Expect in the Beta
The Open Beta kicks off on February 20 at midnight PST and runs until February 24 at 11:59 PM PST, offering a limited-time window for players to jump in. The beta includes:
- Eight Playable Characters: A mix of fan favorites and fresh fighters.
- Four Modes:
- Ranked Match: Test your skills in competitive play.
- Casual Match: Low-stakes fights for fun.
- Room Match: Custom lobbies with friends.
- Training Mode: Sharpen your moves and explore combo potential offline.
No PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass subscriptions are required, making the beta easily accessible to all players.
The REV System and Dual Controls
City of the Wolves brings the legendary series into the modern era with the new REV System, designed to deliver high-energy, dynamic fights. The game also features two distinct control schemes, ensuring accessibility for newcomers while providing depth for seasoned players.
A Classic Revived for a New Generation
The Fatal Fury franchise, which debuted in 1991, played a pivotal role in shaping the fighting game genre. With its last installment, GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES, released in 1999, fans have been waiting over 25 years for the series’ return.
