Red Art Games has announced that Macross -Shooting Insight- will officially launch on February 7, 2025, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe. This marks a historic moment as the first-ever Macross console game to receive an official Western release.
For collectors, physical editions (ESRB and PEGI-rated) will be released later this year. PS4 physical copies will be exclusive to Europe, while special editions will be available only through Red Art Games’ online store (Europe) and Video Games Plus (North America).
A Multi-Dimensional Macross Shoot ‘Em Up
Developed by Kaminari Games (Raiden V Director’s Cut), Macross -Shooting Insight- is a multi-dimensional shooter blending multiple gameplay styles. Players will pilot iconic Valkyrie fighters through a galaxy-shaking conflict, featuring characters from five classic MACROSS series:
- Macross Plus
- Macross Zero
- Macross 7
- Macross Frontier
- Macross Delta
With fan-favorite songs from each series, players can synchronize with songstresses to boost firepower, increase maneuverability, and weaken enemies.
Stages incorporate a mix of horizontally scrolling, vertically scrolling, and 360-degree shooting gameplay, adapting to each pilot’s unique Valkyrie transformations.
Western Release Enhancements
The Western version of Macross -Shooting Insight- includes the latest updates from the Japanese release, improving difficulty balancing, continues, music integration, and quality-of-life features:
- Adjustable difficulty & increased auto-recovery
- Unlimited stage continues
- Extended Diva songs
- In-game control display when paused
