Koei Tecmo and longtime Atelier developer Gust have officially announced that Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian will launch on September 26, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Fans can now preorder the physical edition and get a first look at new gameplay and story details thanks to a new trailer and developer commentary.
Two New Heroes, One Vanished Town
Atelier Resleriana tells the story of Rias Eidreise, an adventurer gifted in alchemy, and Slade Clauslyter, a mysterious traveler who can open portals to alternate dimensions. The two team up to uncover the cause of a massive disappearance in their homeland of Hallfein, while following the legacies of their loved ones.
Set in the same world as Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator, the game features appearances from classic Atelier characters including Sophie Neuenmuller, Totori Helmold, Razeluxe Meitzen, and Wilbell Voll-Ersleid.
Explore the Ever-Changing World of Lantarna
The game brings back the series’ signature mix of exploration, synthesis, and turn-based combat, but adds a few new twists. Players will explore the continent of Lantarna, gathering materials rain or shine, day or night, while diving into multi-layered “Dimensional Paths” that shift layouts each time you enter.
Combat is turn-based with a timeline strategy layer. Players will build a six-character party—three in front, three in back—to unleash chain attacks and powerful Unite skills using action points and timing.
A New Spin on Synthesis and Town Building
Item crafting returns with a twist in the form of Gift Color Synthesis—a system that lets players connect color-coded ingredients to create stronger items, assign traits, and unlock new effects. Some characters can even assist Rias in synthesis to boost results.
Players can also run a shop and help rebuild Hallfein by selling crafted goods. Profits can be reinvested into the town, unlocking new recipes and progressing the story as the town grows.
Launch Details and Bonuses
The game will be completely offline, with no internet connection required. It features Japanese voice acting with English text only. While the PlayStation 4 version will release in Japan, it will not be available in the West.
Fans who pick up either the physical or digital version within two weeks of launch will receive the following early purchase bonuses:
- Activewear Adventuring Set for Rias and Slade
- Adventuring Charm Set
