Everlast: Undying Tale Brings Classic MMO Charm to Modern RPGs

Virginia-based indie developer InSpades has unveiled its first project, Everlast: Undying Tale, a lighthearted yet epic fantasy RPG inspired by classic MMOs like Old School RuneScape and Guild Wars. The game blends a deep skilling system, real-time combat, and minimalist base-building into a world where exploration, crafting, and player choice shape the adventure.

Players can wishlist Everlast: Undying Tale on Steam now and sign up for the game’s first alpha playtest, coming soon.

Skill, Build, and Balance the Curse

Everlast offers a robust progression system, with skills like fishing, blacksmithing, and tailoring unlocking new resources, items, and opportunities. Players can restore and customize their own estate, providing a safe haven for crafting, trading, or simply relaxing with a rod in hand by the water.

Central to the experience is the game’s “Curse” mechanic. As players progress, they can choose to suppress or embrace this eldritch power — higher curse levels grant unique, potent abilities but come with dangerous drawbacks. Every action, from combat choices to skill investments, will influence how the curse shapes your journey.

An Evolving, Lore-Rich World

The Kingdom of South Umbardom awaits, packed with vibrant races, mythical creatures, and unique regions to discover. Quest lines are designed to be character-driven and steeped in lore, revealing the mystery behind your past and the curse that binds you.

Players can adventure solo, team up with friends, or interact on public servers, shaping their own path through the world. Whether you seek glory as a hero or choose a darker road, the realm will remember your actions.
