Tribute Games and Universal Products & Experiences have announced that two familiar faces from Scott Pilgrim’s League of Evil Exes are stepping into the playable roster of Scott Pilgrim EX. Lucas Lee, the musclebound skater-turned-Hollywood star, and Roxie Richter, the half-ninja goth, will be playable when the retro-style brawler launches on PC and consoles in early 2026.
Both characters were revealed in a new trailer, showing off their distinct fighting styles in Scott Pilgrim EX’s pixel-perfect brawling action. Lucas Lee smashes enemies with his pro-wrestler grapples and a skateboard that doubles as a blunt-force weapon, while Roxie Richter slices through foes with her sword, smoke bombs, and lightning-fast combos.
A New Story for Toronto’s Most Stylish Brawler
In Scott Pilgrim EX, Toronto has been overrun by gangs, demons, robots, and even rogue vegans. After the members of Sex Bob-omb are kidnapped and their instruments stolen, Scott, Ramona, and a lineup of allies, now including Lucas and Roxie, must fight their way through the city’s neighborhoods to rescue their friends and stop the chaos.
The game will feature seven playable fighters in total, with more characters yet to be revealed. Alongside combat, players can expect side quests, highly interactive environments filled with usable items (from baseball bats to turnips), and a brand-new story co-written by creator Bryan Lee O’Malley. Music is being handled by fan-favorite chiptune band Anamanaguchi, who return to deliver a fresh soundtrack.
A Retro Revival
Scott Pilgrim EX marks the franchise’s first new video game in over 15 years, bringing a bold mix of beat ’em up action and Scott Pilgrim’s trademark humor and style. Tribute Games’ retro art direction and gameplay pedigree (TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge) ensures the return will feel both nostalgic and fresh.
With the addition of Lucas Lee and Roxie Richter, the playable roster is shaping up to be more diverse and chaotic than ever. Fans can expect more reveals ahead of launch in early 2026.
