Big Fan and developer Shiny Shoe have released Lost Arsenal, the first free post-launch content update for Monster Train 2. The update launches today alongside the Deluxe Edition of the game on PC, which bundles the base game with the official soundtrack and compendium, all at a 10% discount.
The Lost Arsenal update is rolling out across platforms, while the Deluxe Edition is available now on Steam.
What’s in Lost Arsenal?
The Lost Arsenal update builds on Monster Train 2’s signature vertical deckbuilding combat with a host of new features and balance tweaks:
- New Cards to Draw: Room, Equipment, and Spell Clan cards join the mix, with clanless options adding more versatility to runs. These can be discovered through new Merchants.
- Balance Pass: Original Monster Train clan cards have been updated to better fit with the sequel’s mechanics, alongside balance adjustments across all clans.
- Switch Performance Options: A new unlocked frame rate setting has been added for Nintendo Switch, designed to take advantage of the Nintendo Switch 2’s enhanced performance.
A Roadmap to 2026
Beyond today’s update, Shiny Shoe has shared a roadmap outlining upcoming free updates and paid DLC stretching into early 2026. Players can expect new bosses, artifacts, and even the debut of a brand-new clan in the months ahead.
Why It Matters
Hailed as one of the best-reviewed games of the year, Monster Train 2 expands on the innovative three-floor battle system of the original with five clans, deep synergy options, and endless deckbuilding possibilities. With Lost Arsenal arriving today, the long ride ahead looks even more exciting.
You can check out the Deluxe Edition and future updates via the game’s Steam page.
