Gigasword Brings Its Tower-Climbing Metroidvania Action to Consoles and PC This November

After more than five years in development, solo dev Jack Breen of Studio Hybrid and publisher Akupara Games have announced that Gigasword will officially launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on November 13, 2025. Originally slated as a PC-only release, the team chose to unite all platforms under one date so no player would be left behind.

A Tower, a Sword, and the End of the World

Gigasword follows Ezra, a warrior tasked with climbing the massive tower of Nestrium to confront an ancient evil unleashed by humanity’s greed. At the heart of this epic lies the Gigasword, a weapon as much a burden as it is a blessing. The sword’s colossal size isn’t just for combat; it also serves as the key to solving traversal puzzles, unlocking pathways, and testing your wits alongside your reflexes.

As famine and disease spread across the city of Thoenhart, humanity’s desperate raid on the God Crystal, Gnosis, threatens to unravel reality itself. The question remains: can Ezra reach the top in time to stop the collapse?
