Square Enix has released a new patch for the Xbox version of Final Fantasy XVI, officially adding support for Xbox Ally handheld devices. This update makes the Microsoft Store on Windows edition of Final Fantasy XVI: Complete Edition fully playable on the Xbox Ally, allowing players to take Clive’s journey on the go for the first time.
Alongside the update, Square Enix also announced LOGOS: The World of Final Fantasy XVI, a hardcover lore book that delves deep into the myths, culture, and hidden corners of Valisthea. Written from the perspective of Harpocrates II Hyperboreos, the Hideaway’s resident scholar, the tome provides a comprehensive look at the continent’s history through fictional journals, letters, and first-hand accounts from the world’s inhabitants.
Beyond historical entries, LOGOS explores Valisthea’s music, literature, religion, cuisine, and even cultural nuances, presenting an unprecedented level of worldbuilding detail. The book offers fans a chance to see the world through the lens of the in-game loresman, giving long-time players and lore enthusiasts new insights into the characters and setting.
LOGOS: The World of Final Fantasy XVI ($44.99) releases in March 2026 and is available for preorder now.
With the latest patch expanding the ways players can explore Valisthea and the upcoming lore book enriching its universe, Final Fantasy XVI continues to evolve beyond the screen.
