Tribute Games, in collaboration with Universal, has announced that Scott Pilgrim EX will launch digitally on March 3, 2026. The reveal came alongside a new release date trailer confirming two additional playable characters and offering a closer look at the game’s high-energy brawler action set across a reimagined Toronto.
Two New Playable Characters Join the Fight
The release date trailer introduces Matthew Patel and Robot-01 as the latest fighters joining the roster. Matthew Patel, a founding member of the League of Evil Exes, brings theatrical flair and supernatural chaos to combat. His moveset focuses on crowd control, demon-summoning abilities, and fiery attacks that manipulate the battlefield through traps and distractions.
Robot-01, created by the Katayanagi Twins, is built for pure destruction. Designed as a precision combat unit, Robot-01 uses thrusters, mid-fight transformations, and long-range blasts to overwhelm enemies. Its powerful strong attacks unleash explosive projectiles capable of clearing entire screens in moments.
A New Brawler Set in a Familiar World
In Scott Pilgrim EX, Toronto is once again under siege as Sex Bob-omb is kidnapped and their instruments are stolen. Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, and a growing cast of allies must battle demons, vegans, and robots while traveling across the city—and even back in time—to save the band and the world.
The game features seven playable fighters at launch, each equipped with unique, upgradable abilities. Players can fight through enemy gangs using character-specific combat styles or by taking advantage of an interactive environment filled with weapons like baseball bats, demonic rods, and other unexpected items.
A Brand-New Story with Classic Creative Talent
Scott Pilgrim EX delivers an all-new storyline co-written by series creator Bryan Lee O’Malley and Tribute Games. The experience is paired with a fresh soundtrack from Scott Pilgrim musical alumni Anamanaguchi, blending nostalgia with new energy for both longtime fans and newcomers.
