Capybara Games, the award-winning studio behind Below, Grindstone, and Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, has announced that its newest project, Find Your Words, will launch this April. The heartfelt narrative adventure will be released as a free game, with an optional supporter edition planned for later.
The announcement was accompanied by a brand-new trailer revealed during The MIX Spring Game Showcase, offering the first look at the game’s colorful world and emotional premise.
A Summer Camp Story About Communication
Find Your Words follows a child attending a vibrant summer camp as they learn to communicate without speech. Players will explore scenic campgrounds filled with wildlife, forming friendships and building a sense of community along the way.
As players explore the camp, they will gather symbols to add to a communication binder. These symbols can be combined to express different meanings, gradually unlocking new interactions, activities, and ways to connect with the camp’s cast of characters.
Building Friendships Through Play
Throughout the adventure, players will encounter a variety of camp friends, each with their own personalities and quirks. As relationships grow stronger, new moments and interactions will unfold, revealing deeper connections between the characters.
The experience is designed to resonate with players of all ages, capturing the sense of wonder children feel during summer adventures while also evoking nostalgia for adults.
Quiet moments of play, such as relaxing on the beach, wandering through the woods, or dancing with friends, help shape the game’s gentle pace and welcoming atmosphere.
A Personal Project From the Developers
Find Your Words began as a passion project created by two developers at Capybara Games who bonded over their shared experiences raising non-speaking children. The project has also been developed with input from speech-language pathologists and AAC users, helping ensure the game authentically reflects different forms of communication.
Players interested in the game can wishlist Find Your Words now on Steam ahead of its release this April.
