Sol Shogunate Dev Diary Reveals Its Lunar World and Samurai Clans

Sol Shogunate has released its first developer diary, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the setting and factions of the upcoming samurai space opera action RPG.

The new video features Game Director Leszek Szczepański and Narrative Director Cindi Knapton as they walk viewers through the game’s original sci-fi universe, highlighting major locations, futuristic technologies, and the social structure shaping life on the moon.

The developer diary introduces several areas from Sol Shogunate, including the Lunar Glass City of Shin-Edo, the nightlife district of Tenkyo, and the harsher landscapes beyond the moon’s urban centers.

According to the update, these locations are tied to the game’s broader sci-fi setting and help define the world players will explore.

Tennoji and Karasuma clans revealed

The video also introduces the Tennoji and Karasuma samurai clans for the first time. The two clans are connected to advances in genetic and scientific research that support life on the moon.

The diary notes that these developments help make lunar life more comfortable, particularly for members of the ruling class.
