Paper Cult has announced that Tears of Metal is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, the Microsoft Store, and Steam. The news was revealed during the latest ID@Xbox Showcase alongside a new trailer featuring a fresh track from the game.
The medieval hack-and-slash co-op roguelike is still planned to enter Early Access in Spring 2026.
A Co-Op Roguelike About Reclaiming Your Island
In Tears of Metal, players lead a Scottish battalion in a fight to reclaim their island after the Dragon Stone Meteor brings waves of occupiers and dangerous new powers to their home. Players can cut through large groups of enemies solo or in co-op while pushing deeper across war-torn battlefields.
Each run brings new combinations of powers, artifacts, and objectives, with multiple playable heroes available as players carve through the invasion.
Soldiers, Settlements, and Permanent Upgrades
Between campaigns, players can recruit and upgrade soldiers who gain permanent skills over time. Settlements can also be expanded to unlock new shops, permanent upgrades, and harder challenges with better rewards.
The game features more than 100 artifacts, special objectives, cosmetics, and combo options, giving players different ways to build their forces and approach each campaign.
