Happinet and Lights-Interactive are bringing Mononoke No Kuni to BitSummit 2026 from May 22-24 with a revamped demo. The new build covers the game’s prologue and first chapter, giving attendees a closer look at the 3D action-adventure ahead of its planned Autumn 2026 release on PC via Steam.
The demo will be playable at the Lights-Interactive and Happinet booths. Visitors who post about the game on social media at the Happinet booth can participate in an Omikuji fortune-slip activity for a chance to win exclusive items.
New Demo Adds Major Improvements
The BitSummit demo includes several updates since the game’s previous showing at Tokyo Game Show 2025. These include a new free camera, rebuilt environments, added exploration and growth systems, and mini-games with the player’s Shiba Inu companion.
A Yokai Adventure About a Boy and His Dog
Mononoke No Kuni follows Taiki and his Shiba Inu companion Musashi on a journey through the Mononoke Realm. Musashi has died in the human world and now survives as a divine being, with Taiki working to save him by collecting sacred relics and purifying yokai.
Players will meet mononoke inspired by Japanese folklore, including Nekomata, Gama, Komi, and Mujina. Each has their own memories, regrets, and reasons for becoming lost.
Parry-Based Combat and Exploration
Combat centers on purification battles against yokai burdened by sorrow, regret, and hatred. Players can parry attacks, send projectiles back at enemies, unlock new abilities, and team up with Musashi for healing and buffs.
Mononoke No Kuni is planned for PC via Steam in Autumn 2026 and will support more than 20 languages.
