Activision and Infinity Ward have officially revealed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, launching October 23, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The new entry is set during a global conflict centered on the Korean Peninsula, with the campaign following Private Park, a young South Korean soldier caught in a full-scale North Korean invasion.
Campaign Features Price and Global Missions
Alongside Park’s story, Captain Price returns as an operator turned outlaw working outside the system to stop a weapon that could push the world toward catastrophe.
The campaign will take players through several global locations, including close-quarters combat in New York, car chases in Paris, SAS night raids in Mumbai, and trench warfare in Korea.
Multiplayer Adds Ballistic Authority
Multiplayer will focus on grounded, precise combat with updated movement built for greater control. Infinity Ward is also introducing Ballistic Authority, a new weapons-first system designed around more authentic Modern Warfare gunplay.
At launch, Modern Warfare 4 will include 12 Core maps and Kill Block, a new dynamic battleground that can reconfigure its layout between rounds across more than 500 setups.
DMZ Returns
DMZ is also returning as Call of Duty’s extraction mode, with solo players and squads deploying into shifting combat zones where each run can play out differently.
More details on DMZ will be shared on June 7.
PC Focus and Switch 2 Debut
Infinity Ward and Beenox are also putting a renewed focus on PC, with more options tied to performance, visual fidelity, responsiveness, and customization.
