New “Strike Packages” Change the Game in Call of Duty

A few changes are coming to the Call of Duty multiplayer, and today, Activision has released a video highlighting one of the bigger changes coming to Modern Warfare 3, Strike Packages. Point streaks will replace kill streaks, which Infinity Ward and Sledge Hammer Games hopes will benefit all players in Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer.

“We realized we had made the game for one type of player,” said Mark Rubin, executive producer at Infinity Ward. “What we wanted to do was offer the same kind of reward system for every type of player.”

There are three types of Strike Packages: Assault, Support, and Specialist. Each Strike Package will offer a different set of point streak rewards, and geared toward different play styles.

Watch the trailer below to learn about each strike package, and check out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for yourself with it releases Nov. 8, on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
