SNES Classsic Games, Ranked

Now that the SNES Classic has been released, and we wait to see how scare the product actually ends up being, let’s put the games in a list ordered from worst to best.

After spending some significant time with the SNES Classic, and all of the games on the device I have put together a list ranking how the games hold up. Turns out that Star Fox doesn’t quite play like you might remember it in your mind’s eye…

  1. Star Fox

  1. Star Fox 2

  1. Contra III: The Alien Wars

  1. Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts

  1. Final Fantasy III

  1. Secret of Mana

  1. Super Punch-Out!!

  1. Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting

  1. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island

  1. Super Mario Kart

  1. Super Castlevania IV

  1. F-Zero

  1. Kirby’s Dream Course

  1. Megaman X

  1. Donkey Kong Country

  1. Kirby Super Star

  1. Super Mario RPG

  1. EarthBound

  1. The Legend of Zelda: A Link the the Past

  1. Super Mario World

How does this list stack up with your impressions? Are there any games that didn’t make it onto the SNES Classic that hold a special place in your nostalgia vault? Let us know on Twitter, or in the comments below!
