Nintendo Details Upcoming Releases for North America

Nintendo has typically been silent on its release schedule, however, that all changes today. The publisher has announced their upcoming first-party release lineup for 2010 in North America. Note that December release dates haven’t been included in this calendar so those holding out for Golden Sun may have to wait a bit longer. … Continue Reading

SparklingBlue Plays Dragon Quest 9

The Dragon Quest series has always been a bit of a niche series in most of the world, but in Japan, it has the rock star status that Final Fantasy enjoys in the US, so much so that there is supposedly a law saying that a Dragon Quest game cannot be released on a weekday (to keep people from missing work and cutting class to play it.) Furthermore, when this game released in Japan, 3 million copies sold in one weekend!

So when my copy arrived in the mail last week, I dove right in–and I can see why it sold like hotcakes in Japan.

Curious as to what spurred 3 million copies to fly off the shelves? Read on… … Continue Reading

Etrian Odyssey III Has Mapmaking; It Like a GPS Totally

Atlus is really pushing the marketing on Etrian Odyssey fans and with the looks of it, mapmaking should be a useful feature for all RPG enthusiasts. Players can exercise their cartography skills by utilizing the various tools available to you. In this, you can lay the ideal path and use the autopilot feature to get yourself through the map. It’s almost impossible to get lost in this game. I’ve kept the italics in case I am proven wrong in the future and aren’t liable for my statements thereof. Har, har!

Etrian Odyssey III will be out in stores September 21, 2010 and only on the Nintendo DS. … Continue Reading

BlazyBloo DSi Now Available for Download

Oddly enough, the folks over at Askys Games went all chibi on us and released a 2D brawler called BlazyBloo: Super Melee Brawlers Battle Royale out now for DSiWare at 500 DSi Points.

The game supports up to 4 players locally or CPU in four match modes that are just weird to describe, one mode has you snatching a panda in a capture the flag type scenario. Your favorite characters from Blazblue return for its downloadable debut like Ragna, Noel, Rachel, Taokaka, and Jin and you can also customize them with bunny ears to improve their fighting abilities.

If anime brawlers in chibi attire interests you, then by all means check out BlazyBloo. Just don’t die from the cuteness overload.

E3 10: Super Scribblenauts Preview

5th Cell is aware of the controls. They fixed it. I’ve seen it. Trust me. With that out of the way, the Super in Scribblenauts gives you a hint of the game’s direction. The use of word modifiers is the big change this time around and we’re not fooling around when you can string awesome new phrases like “massive stone sad beelike dragon.” … Continue Reading
