Well, last night, but hey, I get up at 5:10 in the morning so I can download these things and use them!
So this feature puts you in control of the interactive real-time earth with actual cloud movements, weather effects, headlines on over 60 cities and they even captured Hurricane Ike on Life with Playstation!
The University of Wisconsin has helped create the earth all over again, with live weather reports from The Weather Channel, “top news headlines provided by Google news, and live web cam images via the Earth Television Network — all localized to the select city.”

What’s really awesome about Life with Playstation is that it’s essentially an upgrade from Folding@home. How? Well when running Life with Playstation, Folding@home runs in the background. So you can help research cancer by sharing your PS3 for a few minutes while you check out the news, the weather or leave it on the application to just fold.
I know I will still continue to fold, always loved it, “folding” is when you lend your PS3’s processing power to simulate proteins “folding,” which take such little time, you need thousands of people contributing to see how and what it does in that amount of time. To see what causes such diseases as Alzheimer’s and other serious diseases you probably don’t want.
So you’ll be glad to hear Life with Playstation enhances Folding@home simulations of proteins folding and allows for more simulations. And apparently there’s a new ranking system, sounds fun. Not only that, but you can freely switch from The Live Channel to Folding@home!
