Capcom confirmed that Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li, the feature film adaptation of the fighting series will be releasing February 2009.
“Following the launch of the arcade video game Street Fighter IV in Summer 2009, its Hollywood movie version Street Fighter is set to be released worldwide in February 2009,”
The February release puts the film in close range with the console versions of Street Fighter 4, which is slated to hit PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360 before March 31, 2009.
Helmed by Doom film director Andrzej Bartkowiak and written by Justin Marks, the Chun Li centric film will not feature Ken or Ryu. The movie stars Kristin Kreuk, Michael Clark Duncan, Neal McDonough and many more.
