Heroes of Ruin Announced for 3DS

Publisher Square Enix announced Heroes of Ruin today for the Nintendo 3DS system. Its an RPG with a big focus on social connectivity and is expected for release in early 2012.

Players can solo the campaign or join up with three other friends via drop-in, drop-out co-op. Heroes of Ruin features “dynamic environments,” stating that new paths will open up constantly. Looting dungeons will be a main focus for social connectivity. StreetPass collects items from players you pass by and populates the “Trader’s Network,” where you can buy and sell loot. SpotPass will offer rare items and challenges via Wi-Fi hotspots. Above all, Square promises a community site where people can play special quests and team up with other players.
