Sucker Punch Officially Part of Sony

Sucker Punch, developer of the inFamous and Sly Cooper series, is now officially a member of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, according to an announcement by Sony. Sony’s purchase of Sucker Punch, which has been a second-party developer for Sony, means that they will have exclusive rights to all Sucker Punch titles.

“Sucker Punch Productions is one of the most highly acclaimed development studios in the industry and we have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the company for over 12 years. We are delighted to officially welcome them to the SCE family,” said SCE WorldWide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida.

Sucker Punch will now release first party titles for Sony alongside great developers like Naughty Dog, Media Molecule, Polphony Digital, and more.

“It’s just been such a productive and enjoyable relationship for us that I think that in all of our discussions the only group we really seriously entertained doing this kind of a transaction with was Sony,” said Brian Fleming, managing partner, Sucker Punch Productions.
