Konami has announced Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate coming to Nintendo 3DS this fall. Mercury Steam developed, Mirror of Fate takes place 25 years after the events of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and acts as the predecessor for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Mirror of Fate looks at the story behind Gabriel’s descendants, Simon and Trevor Belmont.

Trevor Belmont, a knight of the Brotherhood of Light, sets out to avenge the death of his mother, at the hands of his own father, who has returned from years of exile to take up residence in a mysterious castle. What was once Gabriel Belmont now stands Dracula, a powerful vampire. Dracula has declared war upon the Brotherhood and thus the scene is set for a cataclysmic showdown between Father and Son.
The 3DS version allows for multiple playable characters, deep combat system, and detailed environments and boss fights.
