The PlayStation 4 is set for a $399 in price point in North America when it launches later this year. Sony made the announcement during their E3 press conference this evening.

According to www.scei.co.jp, the PlayStation 4 comes with a 500 GB hardrive.

The company also addressed used games and online authentication. Sony will not impose used game restrictions with the PlayStation 4. Unlike the Xbox One, PS4 owners will not have to sign online to authenticate their system or games. This means that people don’t have to sign online periodically, or at all in order to play offline.

PlayStation owners that subscribed to PlayStation Plus can carry their subscription over to the PS4. However, PlayStation Plus is required to access multiplayer on the PS4. A PS+ subscription is not required to access entertainment features like Netflix.

Sony also revealed the design of the PlayStation 4. You can see it in the image above.
