Nintendo 2DS Launching Alongside Pokemon X/Y for $129

You read that right. A new 3DS design called the 2DS which plays all Nintendo 3DS games in 2D only.

On October 13th you can pick up the latest revision to the Nintendo portable. It’s no longer a clam shell design (mabye to prevent any hinges from failing) in favor of a wedge form factor and is priced at $129.99

The change in form factor makes the console less appealing as a portable system, but the standard screen size instead of using the screens from the XL makes it weird to become a ‘home’ version of a portable system.

Still don’t believe me? Check out the official announcement video from Nintendo:

Will you be buying this budget 3DS, or would you rather have something a little more traditional?
