[UPDATE]Dead Rising 3 Gets Huge Mystery Update

Capture

Without so much as a tweet, Capcom has released a new update for Dead Rising 3 which weighs in at a whopping 13GB

This is a massive update, without any clear evidence of what (if anything) has been added. This greatly increases the install size of Dead Rising 3 which is 19.9GB without any patches. The first Dead Rising 3 DLC “Operation Broken Eagle” is due out “in just a few days” according to Capcom Vancouver’s Facebook page and they are giving away a few season pass codes to build up anticipation. This is likely preparation for, or even the straight up installation of DLC, but no official statements have been issued. It would be strange if Capcom forces all players to download the DLC update, especially when some Internet providers have strict monthly data allotments.

We have reached out to Capcom and Xbox PR for further details on the patch, and will update the story when more information is available.

UPDATE: As of this morning the Operation Broken Eagle DLC has been confirmed for a Jan. 21 release. Capcom has released a trailer:
